About
High heels clicking and pretty dress flouncing,
she paints without a brush and writes without a pen.
I can change the world – and so can you *smile*
Hijack My Heart is a personal writing project of Sulthana Begum. This is a place to inspire change, support charity and release my creativity. Mostly to release the creativity though in the form of poetry as well as prose, articles and pictures.
I write because poetry, like other arts, is not necessary to live life, but it makes life worth living. It lets me capture moments, whether painful or beautiful, and it lets me release and express myself without censorship, for no one knows how much poetic license has been used, and how much of it is based on reality or imagination. To see when and how I started writing poetry, read ‘Where my poetry began‘.
The posts will either be my own creative writing, critiquing some of my favourite poems by other poets, and if I get carried away, probably about my favourite hobbies like running and events and doing crazy adrenaline-rush things like skydiving for charities. Sharing is welcome, but if you do, please respect the copyright by always acknowledging the writer.
Aside from this, I run the networking organisation Network Bangla, I am part of the youth project Newham Young People Online, I volunteer for Poet in the City, I have my own web and graphics design business Pink Leaf Design and I currently work for the totally awesome charity London Tigers.
Got a question? Give me a shout at sulthana@hijackmyheart.com if you need anything and I’ll see if I can do something to help you.
I hope you enjoy reading this site and come back again. And I always appreciate anyone who spares their time to leave a comment
