I thought I loved you then
I think I do now
But a different kind of love
The kind that wants to make sure
You have a good life
Without me

I thought I loved you then

But a different kind of love
The kind that wants to make sure
You have a good life
Without me
Short, bittersweet.
*sigh*

I keep on coming back to this. Only 6 lines, but that’s the power of poetry.
I’d like to think I’m at this stage as well.
That has to be the best thing anyone has ever said about my poetry, thank you!
Why do you come back to this? Has it struck a chord?
lol. you’re welcome.
It has. Remarkable though is the timing – I kinda stumbled across this at exactly the right time.
Life is funny like that. It’s like the universe channels appropriate things your way when you’re ready for them.
I often found when I used to listen to songs more often, I’d come across lyrics I’d relate to when in a particular mood.
Indeed it is. Synchronicities are hard to explain, so I’m not going to try lol.
Thank you for writing it then, that I may read it now
I can totally relate to this!
awww sulthana this is so sweet. The way u relate your feelings to poetry is ,,,,,,, cant find the word to describe it.
